A stream monitor shows you every session running on your account right now, and lets you end the ones you do not want. On Eagle 3D Streaming, this feature is called Running Streaming Sessions. It helps you protect capacity, control cost, and remove viewers you did not intend to let in.
This guide explains what the monitor shows, how to end a session, and which settings stop sessions from running too long without any manual work.
What does the stream monitor show?
The monitoring doc says the monitor shows "every active session on your account, live." The same list appears in two places in the Control Panel, under Streaming Apps and under Utilities. Both lists are identical.
| Column | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| App Name | The app being streamed |
| Version | The build number, or "Latest" if the link always opens the newest build |
| Port | The connection used on the streaming machine, which you need only to remove a viewer |
| Device | The device type, such as desktop or smartphone |
| Browser | The viewer's browser |
| Country, City | Approximate location based on IP address |
| Action | The KICK PLAYER button |
Why does a stream monitor matter?
The doc gives three reasons.
- Capacity. A session with no viewer still uses one of your plan's concurrent-user slots. Ending it frees the slot right away. Our guide to CCUs in pixel streaming explains how those slots work, and the capacity and regions doc lists the limits.
- Cost. Streaming minutes are billed even when nobody is watching. See the plans and billing doc and the minutes doc.
- Access. A shared link can reach people you did not intend. The monitor lets you remove them.
You can compare plan limits on the pricing page.
How do you end a pixel streaming session?
Press KICK PLAYER on the row you want to end. The doc says it "ends that viewer's session straight away."
Use it for exceptions. For viewers who leave tabs open, the doc recommends an idle timeout instead of removing people by hand. Automatic limits work all day, while you can only kick sessions you notice.
Which settings end sessions automatically?
Three settings on the Common tab of a stream link's configuration (under Edit Config) do the work for you. The session and access doc describes each one. They apply per configuration, not per app.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Link Expiration | Blocks new sessions once the link expires. It does not end sessions already running. |
| Max Session Time (minutes) | Caps one session's length, whatever the viewer does. The default is 15 minutes. |
| Log Out Automatically After Inactivity | Ends sessions with no mouse, keyboard, or touch input, after a countdown. |
A few details help you set these well:
- Max Session Time ends the stream mid-use. The viewer sees "Session lasted for 15m. Session Expired." with your number. Reopening the link starts a new session with a new limit. For longer sessions, the doc suggests values such as 120 or 600 minutes.
- Inactivity has two fields: how long a viewer must be idle before a countdown appears, and how long the countdown runs. Any input cancels it. If the stream sits in an iframe, keep the stream area visible so viewers can see and click the countdown.
- All three disabled means a session runs until something stops it. The platform sets no maximum, so sessions can bill against your minutes while nobody watches.
The doc recommends keeping the inactivity setting on. Otherwise, idle tabs can hold every session your plan allows and block your own users.
What do viewers see when a session ends?
Every ending reaches your page as one string, according to the session end messages doc. You can show the string as is, or replace it with your own wording. Do not parse it, because the wording can change.
Here are the most common ones:
| Message | Cause |
|---|---|
| "You have been kicked out" | Someone ended the session from the Control Panel |
| "Session lasted for <duration>. Session expired." | The session reached Max Session Time |
| "You have been disconnected due to inactivity." | The inactivity countdown ran out |
| "App Crashed" | The Unreal application stopped unexpectedly |
| "Host's Streaming Closed" | A meeting host left, which ends every guest session |
| "Url Expired" | The streaming link's lifetime passed |
| "The requested exe launcher is currently busy…" | Every machine able to run the app is occupied |
The doc suggests offering a "start again" option after an inactivity disconnect. For a deeper look at unexpected endings, read why your session stopped mid-stream: 5 causes and fixes.
The "busy" message deserves a note. It means no machine is free, not that anything is broken. The preallocated apps doc notes that a preallocated app holds one CCU for as long as you keep it.
How does the monitor fit with shared sessions?
In a shared (meeting) session, guests watch the host's stream. When the host leaves, every guest session ends with "Host's Streaming Closed." Learn more in dedicated vs shared game views and the meeting links doc.
A quick routine for protecting your plan
- Open Running Streaming Sessions when your plan feels full.
- Look for old sessions, unusual locations, or devices you did not expect.
- Press KICK PLAYER on the ones that should not be there.
- Set Max Session Time and the inactivity timeout so the next ones end on their own.
- Add a clear end message in your page.

FAQ
What is the stream monitor on Eagle 3D Streaming?
It is the Running Streaming Sessions list in the Control Panel. It shows every active session on your account and lets you remove a viewer.
How do I end a session manually?
Press KICK PLAYER on the session's row. The session ends straight away, and the viewer sees "You have been kicked out."
Does an idle session use my concurrent-user slots?
Yes. A session with no viewer still uses a slot until it ends. Ending it frees the slot right away.
What is the default Max Session Time?
15 minutes. An empty field also falls back to 15.
Can I stop idle viewers without kicking them one by one?
Yes. Turn on Log Out Automatically After Inactivity, and set the idle time and countdown length.
Does Link Expiration end a running session?
No. It only blocks new sessions from starting once the link has expired.
Use the stream monitor, then automate the cleanup
The stream monitor gives you a live view and a fast way to remove a session. Timeouts keep the list short without your help. Together, they protect your capacity, your minutes, and your access.
