Eagle 3D Streaming receives Grant from AWS
Eagle 3D Streaming (and sister company “The Seagull Company”) based in Dallas, revolutionized virtual gatherings through hosting a 3D Virtual Event via Pixel Streaming platform. During the pandemic, many conferences and conventions faced challenges in hosting events. The tenth annual International Meeting on Aesthetic Phlebology (IMAP) decided to bring its community of several physicians, academics, and medical experts virtually together on a real-time platform, and Eagle joined hands to work with 42 Labs and became successful in developing a 3D virtual event center using the Unreal Engine – the popular video game engine that created ‘Fortnite’.
The immersive and real-time experience at the virtual meeting room takes the user for a ride through its large exhibit hall, and controls let the user walk around and visit the exhibitor’s booths to gain knowledge of their products and services. The virtual event also had interactive panels, experts shared key insights on emerging trends and issues in Aesthetic Phlebology. Attendees through the speaker list were capable of teleporting to conference rooms and watch video streams on topics of interest just with a click of a weblink similar to the YouTube link provided by us. Bringing it live to hundreds of guest attendees in real-time was a big challenge and Eagle, efficiently managed to overcome this task of streaming virtual events in real-time using the Pixel Streaming platform. It worked well in the comfort of people living safely indoors in testing times.
The then Director of Operations of The Seagull Company, Edmund “Quintin” Anderson (now CEO at Eagle 3D Streaming) said, “Our Streaming service is similar to Netflix. The only difference is you can control what is shown on your screen. So, imagine watching your favorite show and being able to zoom, control, tap, rotate and walk around. This is what Pixel Streaming allows.”
Eagle collaboratively worked with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Onica – A Rackspace Technology Company to extensively scale the Pixel Streaming platform. This collaborative effort helped us to develop a sophisticated cloud streaming architecture of virtual events for hundreds of participants in real-time 3D virtual environments just within 3 weeks. Director of Business Development at The Seagull Company (currently Eagle 3D Streaming), Valerie Schmidt said, “This is going to be a significant part of how the foreseeable future is going to operate, we’re in a situation where we need novel ways for us to stay connected. Our robust streaming platform allows that – think of us as your personal virtual event planners.”

We are privileged to receive the 2020-2021 AWS Imagine Grant award in the matter.
